ABOUT
To me, the most iconic image of Formentor is the pine trees standing in the sand, while the sea repeatedly breaks against their trunks. It is an image that carries a profound sense of identity and symbolism. On an existential level, these pines reflect the human condition: we do not choose where or into what circumstances we are born; we simply find ourselves in a place where we remain, endure, and resist.

DIEGO VILLALBA / ARTIST

Diego Villalba is one of the most distinctive voices in Spanish contemporary creative landscape.
His career began in haute couture, for years, he held the role as creative director placing his designs with a cutting edge identity combining artisanal tradition, material experimentation, and a deeply personal aesthetic - where his career unfolds with natural coherence, culminating - logically and inevitably, in contemporary art.
What defines his vision is its remarkable versatility. He moves seamlessly between painting and sculpture, murals and ceramics, immersive installations and intimate works. In his works, materials and textures are the central figure and help build the story behind each piece.
His first solo exhibitions, *Lo siguiente* (2024) and *Cosidos en papel* (2025), extended due to its great succes, confirming to the critics what was being sensed, a developing artistic language of great unusal maturity, capable of dissolving the boundaries between textile and painting, sewing and sculpture, object and experience.
Diego Villalba is an artist who carries the visual legacy of the twentiethcentury projecting it with a unique vision.
